The 3rotor Workshop

After moving back to NZ,  the plan was to build my own workshop.
This meant finding a suitable factory and building a house inside.

In past years, I have lived in a house and had to rent a factory unit to
store the cars,  this time I planned on living in the factory with the cars.

After taking a year off from work, I picked up a hammer and started
building.   This is one of the reasons, my website has been offline for
a year.  with no job, monthly hosting bills are hard to pay.

My priority was to build a place to live.

Here are some build pics.

April 2003

OK, here is the factory before I started to build.  It is pretty dirty and
has an old office which I will convert to a lounge and kitchen.

The plan is to build another level on top for bedrooms.

UPDATE:  June 2003

The top level is going up.  Some old friends come up from
Hamilton to give me a hand with the initial stages of the building.

UPDATE: July 2003

The plaster board is on and so is the power.
Its starting to take shape..

UPDATE: August 2003

The bathroom upstairs is taking shape,  so is the downstairs
laundry and kitchen.

UPDATE: January 2004

After completing the top living section of the house, it was now
time to start on the lower level engine room..

UPDATE: March 2004

The edit suite is now being built on top of the engine room.
I have finally built some stairs up to the bedroom area.

UPDATE: April 2004

Now its time to build the stair railing and get power hooked up
to the engine room and edit suite.

UPDATE: May 2004

Its all starting to come along nicely.  The engine room is getting
there now.  I have hung some pics and have finished the stairs.

The upstairs edit suite is ready for paint.

UPDATE: November 2004

The edit suite is painted and the desks built.   It was great to be
able to unpack my edit equipment after a year in storage.

The engine room is also starting to take shape.

I decided to start on a 3rotor install on the FD also.

UPDATE: February 2005

The engine room is complete and just how I wanted it.   The galv
bench tops have been installed and I have started building a 3rotor
20B for my JC Cosmo that died back in 98.

You can also see some shots of the rest of the workshop.

You will see the stock grey Type S Cosmo I picked up recently.

UPDATE: March 2005

A friend asked me to build him a new 13B for his series 7 RX7.

Here are some pics of the build.

UPDATE: April  2005

After a successful 13B build, it was time to try my hand at a 20B.

Its great to get my JC Cosmo with the 20" wheels back on the road.

Here are some pics of the 20B build.

UPDATE: May  2005

The new 2 post hoist goes in.   This will make life easier.

Some more pics of that engine room.

UPDATE: December  2005

Some general shots of the workshop.
