Yes! The wheels finally
arrived a couple of weeks ago. Thanks go out to JC RACING in Queensland for importing them
from Japan, and organising them to come by air. Now for the hard part! Who the hell am I
going to get to fit the elastic bands called tyres to them. Trying to fit 30 profile tyres
to 20" rims is not an easy task!. I didn't want to just rush out and go down to the
local tyre shop and get someone to do it as they wouldn't have the right equipment and I
didn't want to risk damaging the rims and the tyres.
After ringing around a few places, I got hold of a company that manufacture these special
plastic tyre fitting machines called "Dentist Chairs" that are designed for rims
up to 21 inches. They agreed to fit the tyres and I turned up early one morning to get the
job done. About 5 hours later, the tyres were fitted!, and without any damage. The guys
were great and took their time, ensuring that no damage occured.
The next thing was fitting the wheels to the car!. They went on OK but it was necessary to
lip the rear guards. This was done and now the car is in getting a full suspension
makeover and lowering job!. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
